For me, there's nothing like spending an entire day in the garden. Weeding, mulching, watering, planting. At the end of the day your muscles are warm and tired, you feel completely spent, but utterly happy. 

I've complied some of my favorite gardening resources below. I hope they will inspire you to start a garden this spring. 

Online gardening resources:

You Grow Girl by Gayla Trail. From organic gardening, to starting seeds to writing about gardening, and D.I.Y projects in the garden, there is a wealth of information at You Grow Girl. I highly recommend reading her newest post, What Gardening Can Do for Us. 

Floret Flower Farm blog. Beautiful photography and lots of resources from this family farm in Washington State. If you're dreaming of becoming a flower farmer, look here.

Deep Green Permaculture. If you want to know the ins and outs of permaculture gardening, this is the best blog for it. I especially love the series My Garden where you get to see the progress of a garden over seasons.

Book resources:

Companion Gardening for the Kitchen Gardener, This is my go-to resource when I'm planning our garden beds.

Gaia's Garden is a great in-depth book on home-scale permaculture. This book explains how plants work together and includes great step-by step plans for gardening in small places.

Planting in a Post-Wild World This was a birthday gift from Simon last year and I'm working my way through it. So far it's been very insightful on how we should design plant communities when we plan our gardens.

The Gardener's Corner Podcast - This podcast from Ireland is a joy to listen to. They offer loads of gardening tips, the imagery is stunning, and the climate is close enough to ours to be useful.

My mom, dad, brother, and grandma are all avid gardeners. Whenever I have a question, especially about garden pests, my mom always has the answer. :)
